Notification
What is a "Notification"?
“Notification” is a setting option on ILIAS objects (e.g. a group / a course etc.), that is symbolized by a small bell next to the action menu. Every ILIAS user can activate and deactivate the notification option individually.
What can the "Notification" function be used for?
Every ILIAS user can use the notification function to be automatically informed about current aspects on the learning platform. If you have activated the notification function, you will receive a mail via ILIAS informing you about changes in the ILIAS object (e.g. a course you are a member of). On the following pictures, you can see how to activate/deactivate the notification function:
Notification is deactivated

Example: automated mail
This example shows the beginning of an automated mail which informs the user "Leonie Lernerin" about what happened today on the learning platform ILIAS. Leonie received this mail, because she activated the notification (bell) in the corresponding ILIAS objects, the course "What ILIAS can do in teaching".
