We have compiled some information for you about your email address, the ILIAS learning platform, and other services.
ILIAS is equipped with a test and assessment tool that allows you to integrate formative assessments into your teaching with relatively little effort. Most of the many different question types can be evaluated automatically. Such assessments have many advantages for students, but also for you as a lecturer.

As part of the ‘4D – 4 Dimensions of Digital and Didactic Development’ project, ILIAS has been expanded to include a whiteboard object that significantly enriches university teaching in hybrid learning environments. The digital whiteboard allows multiple people to draw, write and exchange ideas in real time, regardless of their physical location. By promoting visual interaction and creativity, it facilitates the exchange of thoughts and concepts, thereby contributing to an overall improvement in the learning experience.

In the form of an ideas competition, the University of Freiburg would like to identify innovative and practicable ways in which the use of AI in teaching and teaching on the topic of AI can be established in the long term. All teaching staff (with the exception of the Faculty of Medicine) can submit ideas - either individually, in groups and/or together with an institution.

With ILIAS 9, the ILIAS object Wiki finally gets the multilingual feature: Wikis can now be created in several languages and no longer have to be created as separate language versions. This makes it much easier to create multilingual content in ILIAS.

Currently, students and enrolled doctoral candidates can vote online for their representatives to the Senate, the Faculty Councils, and the Student Council. Voting will be open until Monday, 30 June 2025, 12 a.m. Simply log in with your university account and cast your vote: https://wahl.uni-freiburg.de.

Applications for EPICUR Autumn/Winter 2025/26 courses are now open from 10 June to 27 June (or 15 September for most courses)!

ILIAS 9 has added a particularly practical feature: Flashcards directly in the Glossary! Terms and definitions can now be queried interactively and systematically - ideal for repeating and consolidating knowledge.

The Introduction /Concluding remarks in copied tests must be moved by the course admins. Otherwise they will no longer be displayed to course members.

From now on, please only use the new UniMailbox address (<UniAccount>@email.uni-freiburg.de) for your mailing lists and communication with students/enrolled doctoral candidates. The previously used e-mail addresses with the subdomains @students or @planetname were deactivated on 16.04.2025.
The old e-mail addresses (@students or @planetname.uni-freiburg.de) have been deactivated since 16.4.2025, access is no longer possible
