Single-Choice-question
The single choice question only allows one correct answer. You can recognize this by a round selection field (radio button).
Possible applications:
- Selection of a clear answer option
- Yes/no decision question
This is what a single choice question in the test looks like, for example:

How to create a question:
- Enter a title and optionally another author, a description and a status in the life cycle for your question.
- Enter your question.
- Enter the first of the desired answer options in the text input field under Answer text.
- Click on the (+) or (-) icon to add or remove answer options.
- Enter the points for the respective answer options.
- Click on the Save button.
- ILIAS accepts your entries.
Helpful tips for creating:
- If you want the answers to always be displayed in the defined order, deactivate the Mix answers checkbox.
- If you want to enter longer answer options, select the entry Multi-line answers in the Answer editor selection menu. Click on the Save button.
Switching from single-line to multi-line answers only works if you have not yet uploaded a graphic. This must be deleted first. - Insert a graphic in addition to or instead of the answer text. Click on the Select file button. ILIAS opens the upload dialog of your browser. Select a graphic. Click on the Upload button. ILIAS uploads the image under Answer graphics.
This option is only displayed if the answer type Single-line answers is selected. - If you want to change the size of a graphic, enter a value ≥ 20 under Preview size.
Instructions for scoring the question:
- For single-choice questions, only one answer can be selected, but you can award points for each answer option.
- You can also deduct points (minus points) as long as you allocate enough points to the other answer options.
