PexIP
What is DFN-Conf (PexIP)?
The communication platform Pexip is - besides Adobe Connect - one of two solutions for the implementation of video and telephone conferences within DFNconf.
DFN-Conf is a web-based video conferencing platform that allows either direct video conferences with up to 23 participants or streaming with an unlimited number of participants with a 15 second time delay.
Important Note:
Due to the extremely high nationwide demand, the DFN service is currently under heavy load. Meetings with multiple participants using the DFNConf service are therefore not recommended at this time.
What can PexIP be used for?
PexIP is suitable for working groups (max. 23 participants) and web conferences with larger groups. PexIP allows video chat with screen sharing and live streaming option (with unlimited participants).
- Relatively easy to set up rooms and hold video conferences and screen transmissions
- Livestreaming for a large target group possible
- Interactive seminars with only up to 23 participants
- Possibly limited availability, as the platform is used throughout Germany
How does it work?
Current Internet browser or the app: PEXIP Infinity Connect.
- Please contact vk@rz.uni-freiburg.de, with the request to set up a DFN account
- After the setup you will receive your access data and the link to the administration of pexIP-Meteings on the DFN server by e-mail. There you can then log in and create rooms yourself.
- This should normally take 1-3 days.
- in the use of PexIP in teaching
- with the "first steps" in the meeting room
- After prior consultation, a test meeting can be arranged in advance.
