Question types: Overview
Arrangement question (horizontal)
You create a list of terms or parts of sentences that the participant must put in the correct order that you have previously defined. This can be a process sequence or a chronological order, for example. The participant arranges the individual components by clicking and dragging them. Make sure that the desired order is clearly formulated in the question (e.g. start on the left, end on the right).
Arrangement question (vertical)
You create a list of terms, parts of sentences or graphics that the participant must move into the correct order that you have previously defined. This can be a size-dependent arrangement, for example. Make sure that the desired order is clearly formulated in the question (e.g. easy at the top, difficult at the bottom).
Naming terms
Mark errors/words
With this question type, you create a text with errors or searched words or groups of words that the participant must find and select by clicking on them. All words in the text can be clicked on individually. You mark the words or groups of words to be selected in the question text beforehand and award a score for each position in the text.
Formula question
Enter free text
You create a question that the participant must answer with a continuous text or in bullet points. These cannot be evaluated completely automatically by ILIAS. However, you can define keywords that the participant must name in order to automatically receive points from ILIAS. You can specify how many characters may be entered.
Hotspot/Imagemap
In an image map question, you upload a graphic on which you mark clickable areas (“hotspots”). Depending on the answer mode, one area (single choice) or several areas (multiple choice) is the correct answer to your question. As participants can see which areas they can click on, all potential areas should be highlighted in the question.
Kprim Choice
With the Kprim choice question, there are exactly four answers or statements to choose from for a question. You can include graphics in addition to or instead of an answer text. For each of these answers, a decision must be made as to whether it is true or false. The participant must select all four answers correctly in order to achieve the maximum number of points.
'Long Menu' question
A ‘Long Menu’ question consists of a question and a text with one or more gaps. For each of these gaps, a decision is made as to whether it should be a text field or a selection field. The list of answer options can be created manually or imported as a file. The special feature: solution suggestions are displayed from a user-defined number of characters.
Single Choice
The single-choice question consists of a question text with several possible answers. You create the answer options and award the corresponding points for the answers or deduct points (minus points). You can include graphics in addition to or instead of an answer text. The test taker can only select one answer.
