Booking Pool
What is a booking pool?
A booking pool is an 'ILIAS object' that you can use to manage resources of various kinds. The advantage of a booking pool is that you can note available resources (such as consultation slots / available presentation topics etc.) in a booking pool and then make them available to your students for selection. Students can make bookings, which you can then manage.
What can the booking pool be used for?
The booking pool is very well suited to, for example:
- manage the allocation of presentation topics
- manage available consultation slots quickly and easily
- manage available equipment (e.g. for field trips, if different groups have to book equipment during the semester)
Example: Allocation of presentation topics
In the booking pool, you create all the presentation topics that you would like to offer this semester. To do this, you enter information such as title, key questions, general conditions, etc. You can also note how many people can work on/book a presentation topic. You enter a time period in which students can make a selection. You can then view the students' bookings/reservations and then distribute the topics.
How does it work?
