Bibliography
What is a Bibliography?
The "bibliography" is an ILIAS object with which you can embed bibliographies from literature management programs (e.g. Citavi) or generally files with the format ".ris" on ILIAS. Thus, you can provide your students/participants with the literature references suitable for your course very easily and quickly in the ILIAS course room for further use.
What can the Bibliography be used for?
Bibliographies are very suitable for providing students with a good basic foundation for their learning activities. Especially at the beginning of their studies, it is important that students have access to scientifically sound and reliable sources for learning. A good handling of sound literature on a topic is an important basic element of a good study, after all. To this end, many teachers usually provide references to suitable literature (for example important standard works) as a note in their course offerings.
Bibliographies in .ris format can be downloaded by the students and further used e.g. in CITAVI for their own projects.
Example: Providing a bibliography with the resources of the University Library on ILIAS
The ILIAS object "bibliography" can be used very well in connection with the services of the University Library. You can create a list of literature references using the watch list on the University Library's website, which you can then export as a ris file. You can then upload this ris file to ILIAS using the ILIAS object "Bibliography". This list will then be automatically displayed as a "clickable" list by the bibliography object and contains direct links to the University Library's bibliography.
How does it work?
