Creating public spaces
There are three types of spaces:
Private spaces
If a space is private, members must be explicitly invited to join. This type of space is suitable for closed groups that do not admit any external users, but still want to make the space easy to find for trusted people.
Public spaces
If the space is public, members can join via an access link that is easily shared. An invitation is not required. This type of space is suitable for open communities.
Personal spaces
Personal spaces allow you to organize your own rooms and people.
These instructions describe how to create public spaces.
1. Spaces are displayed in the far left column of the user interface. Click on the plus icon “Create a space” to open another dialogue window. Select the Public option.
2. This will open the dialogue window Your public space. Enter a name, address and a description (optional) in the corresponding fields. The name can be freely assigned; a suggestion for the address will be automatically generated based on the name. Click on Create.
3. The space is created. You will now be asked to create rooms within the space. You can customize the room names in the corresponding text fields. If you want to create rooms, confirm by clicking on the Continue button. If you want to skip this step, delete the room names from the text fields. The Continue button will then read Skip for now. Confirm the respective option.
