Creating spaces
Spaces allow people and rooms to be grouped together. A space thus forms an overarching group that makes it possible to assign users and manage rooms so that they are easier for other people to find.
1. To create a space, click on the icon in the bottom left corner and select Create (1). Select how you would like to configure your space (2).
Private spaces: If a space is private, members must be explicitly invited to join. This type of space is suitable for closed groups that do not admit any external users, but still want to make the space easy to find for trusted people.
Public spaces: If the space is public, members can join via an access link that is easily shared. An invitation is not required. This type of space is suitable for open communities.
2. Give your space a suitable name (description optional). You can change it later at any time via the settings.
3. In the next step, you will be asked who you are working with. Select “Me and teammates” to add more people to the space.
4. Choose suitable room names to organize chat communication by project and/or topic.
5. Invite selected persons by user name (1) by entering their name in the search field of the next window and clicking on the appropriate person (2).
Invitation via email address is not possible.
