What is a Wiki?
The ILIAS object "Wiki" can be created via the "Add New Item" button. In a Wiki, groups can jointly create, edit, and publish asynchronous multimedia content (text, image, video, audio, files etc.). It is a collection of self-created individual pages that are linked to each other. This collaborative tool can be edited at any time by all (authorized) course members.
In this way, the contributors can access a well-structured and networked collection of pages that provides quick access to information and can be supplemented or improved quickly and easily. The possibility to add comments to Wiki pages can stimulate discussions on page contents.

What can the Wiki be used for?
A wiki is suitable for various scenarios in which groups and teams are to collaboratively build up a knowledge collection. It can be used, for example, for the joint creation of a compendium, for the transparent development and presentation of certain topics or for joint documentation.
Examples:
- A possible use of a wiki in the context of a lecture can look like this: The students take turns in summarizing the lecture contents, which are then supplemented by their fellow students. If there are any questions or ambiguities, they can be noted in the commentary field and, for example, solved together in tutorials.
- This Digital Teaching Toolbox was implemented with the help of a Wiki and is continuously updated, adapted and expanded by the team of the E-Learning department.
