Data Collection
What is a Data Collection?
The "data collection" is an ILIAS object that allows you to systematically collect data. You can also use the functionalities of the data collection to structure and filter this data and export it from the ILIAS platform in various file formats.
What can the Data Collection be used for?
You can use the data collection to collect data together with your students in tables you have created. In a table several persons can add, edit and/or comment on entries - depending on the authorization settings.
Example: Creating link lists and literature recommendations together
In many study contexts literature and other sources of information play an important role. In some teaching-learning settings, it is also part of the students' task to do research on certain topics and then share this research with everyone in the seminar or lecture context.
The data collection offers a nice opportunity to create such a "research collection". The information can be entered by the students in the form of internet links or, in the classical way, in the form of references to literature. When the data collection is complete, the list can be exported and made available to all participants of the course.
