What is a blog?
A blog is a digital logbook that is created on the internet and can be made available to other users. A blog consists of several contributions, which can be composed of different media formats (e.g. texts, pictures, graphics etc.). In order to write a blog, software is always required to create the contributions. The ILIAS object "Blog" makes this possible. You can create individual blogs on ILIAS under "My Workspace" -> "Personal and Shared Resources". These can also be integrated into a portfolio. In a course room or in a group, you can also create blogs as an admin and assign your participants writing rights in them.
What can the blog be used for?
- In a teaching and learning context, a blog could take on the function of a learning diary. Students report on their experiences and learning progress in their blog. It is possible that a blog has not only one author, but that several people work on the blog. Therefore, the blog is also suitable for working in groups.
- A blog could also be used to document current research trends, or, depending on the context, one's own thoughts on research could be published in a blog.
Example: "News from optes"
The project "optes" (orientation in the self-study phase), for example, uses the blog to report on news from the project context:
"News from Optes" (in German)
"News from Optes" (in German)
