How to find and join courses

To join courses on ILIAS, click on "Repository" (1) and select the "Repository Hom page" (2). You will now see the course catalogue of the University of Freiburg.

Select the desired semester (3). You will then see an overview of the faculties. The catalogue on ILIAS is based on the structure of the course catalogue HisInOne.

Alternatively, you can also unfold the "Tree View" (4) and select the desired semester or category there. You will then also land on the overview of the faculties and can navigate further through the structure as described above.

 
Click through the individual faculties to your department.

Select the desired course from the list, click on the blue arrow next to the course title and select the option "Join" (5).

If the course administrator has assigned a course password, you will be asked to enter it in the next step (6). You will receive the course password from the responsible lecturer.
 
Note: Please note that the course passwords are assigned by the lecturers themselves, it is not your personal university account password! If you do not know the course password, please contact the responsible lecturer.
 
After entering the course password, click on "Join". You are now a participant in the course and the course has automatically been placed under "My Courses and Groups". In order for the course to appear in your Overview, you have to add it to your Favourites.
