Under the menu item "Personal and Shared resources" you can find all your resources located on ILIAS, be it files, blog, polls, submission exercises etc. There are three different tabs with different functions:

Tab "My Resources"

Under "My Resources" you can upload files, create folders, blogs and web links - independently of courses and groups. Resources are only visible to yourself - unless you share them with others. Shared objects are marked by "Status: Shared".
The files created here can be copied/moved to a course room or shared with other users by clicking on the blue arrow.
Under "My Resources" you can also create a Blog and either keep it for yourself, share it with other users or add it to a Portfolio.

Tab "Resources of Other Users" 

Here you will find files and blogs that other users have shared. You can search by various criteria (course, type of resource, etc.).

Tab "My Repository Objects"

Here you will find all the items you have created or uploaded in a course or group room. Use the "Type" search field to select the desired object type (e.g. poll, file, wiki). The action button next to each object allows you to move it, assign it to a different owner, delete it, or display it.
