Test
What is a Test?
You can use the test object to create different questions so that your students can check their own learning progress. A large number of different question types are available. You can also provide feedback on individual questions or answers and upload sample solutions. The ILIAS object "Test" can be created in a course room by clicking on the button "Add New Item".
What can the Test be used for?
- Checking the learning progress, e.g. in self-study phases - Students use the self-test to check if they have understood central learning contents.
- Aptitude test - Placement in different course levels
- Checking previous knowledge - In the run-up to a course or a new learning section, test questions are asked to check the previous knowledge of the students and to prepare them for the following learning contents.
- Creating the same knowledge base - Lecturers can use test questions to convey learning content in a targeted manner. The test contains further links, references to relevant chapters in the textbook etc.
- Collecting recurring questions - Frequently asked questions or occurring problems are dealt with in a test.
- Exam preparation - Test questions (e.g. from past exams) can be provided to prepare for an exam.
Example:

In this sample question, a feedback (dt. Rückmeldung) was stored so that students can check for themselves whether the answer given was correct. The confirmation is only displayed if you want it to be displayed.
How does it work?
