Panopto
What is Panopto?
Panopto is a web-based video content management system for recording, editing, providing and managing videos. Teachers always (!) have direct access from the ILIAS course room that is created to accompany the course.
What can Panopto be used for?
Panopto is suitable for recording lectures (Panopto Recorder) and live streaming (WebCast) during recording. Teachers can use Panopto to record and stream live from their homes, offices and, in perspective, directly from pre-equipped lecture halls. The number of viewers for the WebCast function is unlimited. Live interaction with participants is also possible with live streaming in WebCast mode: participants can use a live chat for questions.
How does it work?
You create a new object "Panopto recording" in your ILIAS course room by clicking the green button "Add New Item". This creates a link to a folder on the Panopto server connected to your ILIAS course where you can record videos or upload pre-produced videos. The following short instructions explain how to work with Panopto.
Important: You need a connection from your ILIAS course room to allow Panopto to assign content to your account and your course. You cannot log in to Panopto itself.
The following expandable panels briefly describe how to add a Panopto object in Ilias and where you can get further support:
1st Step: Button "Add New Item"

2nd Step: Select object "Panopto Video Recording"
